Some say we are coming out of the recession, some say we are still very much in a recession, and the small few say 'what recession'? But one thing is for sure, 2010 will be one of the most important years for business and understanding the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead will be the real key to success.
With the success of the 2009 Convention, we set ourselves a challenge to build on this and better it for 2010 and we have. We have secured one of our biggest line-ups to date with top speakers confirmed from a wide range of fields. There is no doubt that this April you will walk away from this one-day event feeling inspired, having gained tangible information and ideas that will add real value to your business.
We look forward to seeing you there.
The Convention line-up is complete with the confirmation of two businesswomen dedicated to helping people get back into the workforce. Dame Kelly Holmes’ trust, the DKH Legacy Trust, supports elite performers as they develop new careers outside of sport, whilst Emma Harrison’s company, grew from start-up to an £80m business in just 15 years, by sticking to the company’s vision of ‘improving people’s lives’.
Hear from the Group Chairman of one of the world’s largest banks – Stephen Green of HSBC Holdings – as he confirms his place at the IoD Annual Convention, making him the 10th keynote speaker to be announced, forming one of the biggest line-ups to date.
Major Phil Packer survived a rocket attack in Basra, and after being told he would never walk again, he went on to complete the 2009 London Marathon, raising over £1 million pound for Help for Heroes. His inspirational story of strength and courage is truly fascinating and can be heard on the 28 April at the Albert Hall.
A rare opportunity to hear Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu give his thoughts on morality and business in a pre-recorded interview for the Annual Convention. IoD members have been given the chance to put forward questions for the interview and we will be hearing his answers on the day.
